Shane Ryan O'Donnell

I searched the internet for days to find a good attorney in Lake co I didn't know any in the area. I found Shane and looked at his reviews and they were all excellent! I talked to him several times about the case before even meeting him and before we hired him and he told me exactly what he could do ...for my fiance with him having a lengthy criminal history. He returned all of my phone calls at a timely manner and is VERY respectful and professional! We eventually hired him & he did exactly what he told us he could do! He got my fiance an amazing plea I couldn't be happier with his work! The girls in the office are also great & will go above and beyond!!!

Office handled our personal injury case. We opted for a settlement. All through the processing of the file I was told that we had to wait for ALL of the billing to be finalized before any funds would be disbursed. At the end, we signed off on the release saying that the file was completed and that... we could never receive any additional monies in the future. We felt the office was trustworthy and didn't actually read the list of providers carefully. Turns (in the end)out the largest amount of charges was from Medicare and contrary to what I had been told, they were never included in the payout. They knew nothing about the case. So a few months after we received our portion, we started getting bills from them and O'Donnell's office kept requesting me to give them the correspondences and that it would be taken care of. After penalties started to accrue, the Department of Treasury put the file into a collection agency. Bottom line is that we had to pay Medicare on our own, and this was about a year after the settlement was made. I spent many hours on the phone and online trying to find out what had happened. Final word given to me by a supervisor in the Medicare Health Benefits department was that: "Your attorney dropped the ball on day one." It had seemed like a good attorney/client relationship, but it wasn't. I will never be able to understand why they would not inform the primary payor of the case. We had turned in the emergency room visit papers at our consultation which was the same day as the automobile accident. Wrote the Indiana Supreme Court to be advised if there was legal malpractice here due to neglect. Court could not intervene, but suggested the possibility of a civil suit. If any attorneys do legal malpractice cases, they must be hiding under a rock somewhere. Bad experience. Glad we hadn't spent ALL of the settlement money.

When the insurance company didn't want to settle, attorney O'Donnell filed it in court. I couldn't believe the settlement we got but I... do believe attorney O'Donnell is the top personal injury attorney in Indiana.

Attorney O'Donnell is very knowledgable and honest. He also delivered everything he said he would when I first met with him. He is also a former prosecutor, so he knows both sides of a criminal case. He was always very good with communicating with me and never blew me off like other attorneys have... done to me in the past. I would highly recommend Attorney O'Donnell for any type of criminal case.
