Cody Philip Cogswell

As part of a long case with Custody with my Ex, we had to fight an appeal she had filed. Cody, and his paralegal Joe, both had previously worked for the same law firm as the attorney I had on the custody case. He recommended them very highly regarding appeals cases, in addition to normal legal need...s, and having worked with Joe on that case, I had to agree with the choice. Cody and Joe were easy to work with, and very responsive as information came in for the appeal. Joe even contacted me on the weekend to go over some things, to ensure the response was accurate and detailed. We met with Cody and Joe before they sent our response to the appeal, and both were very candid with us, and went over all the possible outcomes. Cody was very personable, polite, and honest. Joe having been the paralegal on a messy post Dissolution / custody case for several years, then working on the Appeal response, was a refreshing thing.. During this time, he has drafted some of the best motions, and Findings of Facts, I have ever seen. These motions have helped win custody of my children. I would recommend Cody, Joe, and this office for any legal needs. They have a great view of the law and nuances where needed.

If you are looking for an attorney that will treat your case like it is the only one he has, this is NOT the law office you are looking for. We provided this law firm with an overwhelming amount of evidence, and witnesses concerning our child custody case, and they chose to use none of it. Not only t...hat, we had multiple witnesses agree to come to court, wait in the courthouse for hours on end in order to testify to the facts of our case, and Cody advised us not to use them because, and I quote, "judges dont like to be overwhelmed with evidence." Unfortunately, we were naive and stupid enough to believe our lawyer, and we lost our custody case. If you value your children, go to another law firm. If I could leave zero stars, I would.

After seeing some of these other reviews, and reading the one about the person thinking the law firm was writing their own reviews, I decided to tell you the truth about mr. Cody cogswell! I originally hired him to represent me in a false allegation of domestic battery, along with a divorce case. mr.... Cody cogswell greets represent me on both of those, because I had a copy of a Facebook conversation between my ex-wife and another person where the allegations of the domestic abuse or discussed. In this discussion, my ex-wife admitted that there had never been physical abuse, and based upon the information mr. Caldwell had, he agreed to represent me for a flat fee of just over $3,500. However, several Family Court hearings were held where in punishment, or reprimand, was issue towards me, where the judge did not even allow me to present witnesses are testimonies in those hearings, and Cody calls will allow the judge to be blatantly violative of my rights and did nothing to report this immoral judge for his blatant violations. Nor did he fight on my behalf to make a new hearing be held. The hearing I'm talking about was one where CPS was present telling my attorney and the judge that if my son were to return to his mother's home, my son's life was in Jeopardy, as he had almost been killed there by the mother's boyfriend, whom had been locked up on the charge of assault on the child. The judge was still ordering my child to go back to that house, not allow me to present witnesses, or evidence saying my son's life was in Jeopardy! Cody calls will allow this to happen! Then two weeks before I go to trial on the domestic battery, Cody Caldwell tells me give him $2,500 more, or take a plea agreement, or he's dismissing himself in my case. I was left with just two options of either going by myself with no attorney, or taking a plea agreement. I was forced into taking the plea agreement. I thought Cody cogswell had presented the evidence to the judge, as he went and had a discussion with the prosecutor about this Facebook conversation where I can fetch him was made that no crime at a turd. Mr. Cogswell lied to me and said that those are inadmissible, when in fact they are admissible. Not only that, he never even presented the evidence to the judge to allow the judge the opportunity to decide if it was a miserable or not. I found out that nothing was ever presented to the judge by inquiring into the judge's office recently in hopes of having my charge amended down. Cody cogswell hid evidence, conspired with the prosecutor to hide such evidence, and failed to present evidence before the judge that showed innocence! Then he tried to extort $2,500 more out of me, if I wanted to go to trial, when he had already previously agreed to represent me for a flat fee! Do not trust this man, nor place your family's future in his hands!
