Chuck is passionate about giving his clients high quality estate planning services at a very affordable price. How? With over 30 years experience and an extensive, well organized collection of computerized documents Chuck has created and refined over the years, Chuck can efficiently customize those documents to fit each client’s unique situation, needs, and objectives. Chuck has found that it is no longer necessary to maintain (and pay for) an expensive full-time downtown office or an extensive support staff. Instead, Chuck combines today’s technology and low overhead expenses so that he can pass on the savings to his clients, without sacrificing the quality legal advice and documents that his clients expect and deserve.
Chuck grew up in a small town in western Pennsylvania. Chuck has lived in Indiana ever since he arrived in South Bend to attend the University of Notre Dame, from which he graduated with a degree in economics. Chuck went on to study law at the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude with a 3.4 average, ranking 16th in his graduating class of 218. While in law school, Chuck participated in Moot Court and was a legal intern at American Fletcher National Bank (now Chase Bank).
From 1981 to 2013, Chuck was a partner in the Indianapolis law firms of Buschmann Carr & Shanks, P.C. and Ayres Carr & Sullivan, P.C., where he practiced in the areas of litigation, estate planning and administration, and real estate. Chuck now concentrates his practice in estate planning and administration, trusts, advance financial and health directives, guardianships and guardianship administration, elder law, and Medicaid planning.
Chuck is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association as well as the Indiana State Bar Association, where he keeps current on legal issues as a member of the Probate, Trust and Real Property, and Elder Law sections.
Chuck enjoys following Notre Dame and Indianapolis Colts football and playing golf. Chuck is a member of Holy Spirit at Geist Church, where he has participated in Bible studies, the church's funeral meal ministry, and has provided one-on-one care as a lay Stephen Minister.
