Steven Ronald Hofer

Mr. Hofer didn't tell me what I was hoping to hear, but he was quick to respond and to ask for information--on a Sunday, even! He spoke to me for awhile, long enough to make me feel "heard" and comfortable-- as opposed to the "I'm really busy; please hurry" atmosphere you find quite often these day...s. Now, did I agree with what he had to say? NO...but he was straight forward on where he thought I stood and what the law was/is as he saw it. He was as compassionate as one could get if you these stories over and over...which is a sad thing, because in my case the person who took off with my money is a repeat offender in the construction business and is once again allowed to prey on the innocent over and over again. The laws are protecting the criminal while the victim suffers emotionally and financially when trying to obtain justice. The criminal? ...a public defender and off scott free for most of us can't afford the pursuit of justice. A thank you goes out to Mr. Hofer for sharing his time and expertise with me in a very timely fashion and that is commendable!
