Thakena Deriess Hogue

Our founding member, Thakena Hogue has a diverse background of experience. She is licensed to practice law in Indiana and is a Indiana Supreme Court Registered Civil and Domestic Relations Mediator. In addition to her legal credentials, Thakena is a licensed mental health therapist. She has applied her systems training as a therapist to working with companies in organizational and leadership development.

In her most recent role, she served as a defense attorney for physicians and health care organizations faced with medical malpractice claims.

Prior to joining the firm, Thakena was a transportation law attorney. In this role she worked as a defense attorney for major trucking companies in the area of employment law, regulatory compliance, insurance, and personal injury litigation.
Thakena is invested in the Indianapolis community. Her commitment to the community is demonstrated in her service to non-profit organizations. She has served on several Indiana non-profit boards. Most recently, she served as the board secretary for The Oaks Academy. She is also passionate about human rights. She has volunteered with the local American Civil Liberties Union.

Thakena was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Purdue University Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She holds a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary. She completed her law degree at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
