Judge's need to do more. They aren't just a docket number to us.

My husband and I have been in a two year custody battle with the mother. Before I came along she ran him and he did whatever she said so he could see his daughter. Which happens quite frequently in the justice system. There's rarely justice for children or others who need it unless there's drugs or ...physical harm. We documented everything we did what we were supposed to. We stayed in the same home so we showed we were stable. This mother has had their daughter in 9 schools. She's moved countless times, she just got her first job because she's used to living off others, she's getting kicked out again and moving another 40 mins out of the way. She mentally abuses her daughter and uses her as leverage. We had a male judge for the two years and then this lady took over because nothing was being done. We were hoping with that she would review everything and make a better judgement call with given proof. Nothing. She didn't even look over anything, she denied the report from the therapist or dcs and ruled in the mom's favor. She looked at nothing because she said we never used our other weekly time. If she had read everything she would know we did it because the daughter was being dragged around on school nights and it was exhausting for everyone while making no sense. The mother did what she wanted when she wanted and was never held accountable. Why would we make a formal complaint when the justice system fails everyone always. So here. Don't waste your time trying to get justice through the state. My step daughter will be 13 in a few years and we know where she'll go. But the fact that the system is failing these children and because they are lazy and in control is why the world and these kids grow up with mental issues. Do better next time judge. They may be a docket number to you but they are much more to us. Shame on you for not making more time for this child.
