As General Counsel for a real estate investment group, Brent provided comprehensive legal oversight for complex real estate transactions, development projects, and corporate operations. He led contractual, regulatory, and litigation matters, ensuring compliance while advancing business and growth objectives across Indiana and the Midwest.
Brent also brings extensive experience in family law, representing clients in matters involving divorce, custody, and guardianship. Brent’s background in government further distinguishes his practice. As Assistant Director for the City of Bloomington’s Housing and Neighborhood Development Department, and previously as Administrator for Real Estate and Economic Development for the City of Indianapolis, he managed large-scale housing initiatives, redevelopment projects, and public-private partnerships. His leadership in these roles strengthened community revitalization efforts and brought tangible progress to key municipal priorities.
In addition to his legal practice, Brent has served as an adjunct instructor at Ivy Tech Community College, where he taught political science, public speaking, and personal law for nearly a decade. He is a graduate of Indiana University, the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois. Brent is also an alumnus of the Stanley K. Lacey Executive Leadership Program in Indianapolis and the Bloomington-Monroe County Leadership Program.
