Don’t hire her and expect to be attentive or show care

My experience with this attorney was extremely disappointing. The fastest and most proactive communication I received was when it came time to send invoices and withdrawal paperwork. Throughout my case, I often felt like I was the one driving everything forward. I had to request a meeting myself a... week before a court hearing just to make sure we were prepared. She would generally do things when I specifically asked her to, but I hired an attorney because I expected legal guidance, strategy, preparation, and proactive communication—not to feel like I had to manage my own case and tell my lawyer what needed to be done. I never felt like she was truly invested in me or my case. When I raised concerns about the lack of communication and preparation, they seemed to be dismissed as frustration over an unfavorable outcome. I was also told that delayed or nonexistent responses were because she had many other clients. I understand attorneys are busy, but clients paying thousands of dollars should not feel like an inconvenience or an afterthought. My frustration is not simply that I did not get the outcome I wanted. It is that I never felt I received the level of attention, communication, preparation, or advocacy I expected from someone I hired to represent me. Based on my experience, I would not recommend her to anyone looking for an attorney who will be proactive and make them feel that their case genuinely matters.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
