Let me first start off by thanking my attorney. Charles, I thank you, and the heavens above for going well above the call of duty. Secondly let me advise you that if you take on the battle of paternity court be prepared for it to drain you, and exhaust you, and take a while, magic can’t happen in on...e day.
There are several reasons my attorney deserves more than kudos! I previously had other counsel who constantly, lied, put me off, and did not get resolution for my son who desperately needed it. We played that game for well into 3 years, and I finally had enough and found Mr. Charles T Bugby; at Crestview Law Firm.
He is an angel. He has done more for my family than I have characters to type or words to describe.
My proceedings initiated over 3 years ago for full custody of my son. As stated I was however put off, and cast aside for whatever reasons. Going into this we were not certain what the courts would say or award we just knew we had a chance and he never led me to believe anything. Well he never really told me anything. I was currently sharing joint legal custody of both of our children. I had physical custody of our daughter; He had physical custody of our son. I tried on multiple occasions to use government agency such as CPS to intervene, Schools, anything you can think of I tried it. ALL TO NO AVAIL! I had given up on “the system”. My sons wellbeing is all I cared for at the time of all the reports. They did NOTHING. Just like my previous counsel THEY ALL JUST DID NOTHING.
Most of my issues were over repetitive failing grades, homework missing with no reasoning as to why he was not completing or turning this in. Just from his previous school 106 papers in total were left unaccounted for. How could you just let a child fail and not care as parent!?! Our daughter doesn’t struggle with academics so why would our son! One would think that since my daughters been on honor roll that would’ve been enough for me to gain custody. However, it wasn’t. Now let’s factor in some of the medical aspects of our son’s need.
He was blatantly not taking my son to dire appointments mental and physical. Not telling me of these appointments, taking him to behavioral specialist unapproved of by me. When we would exchange our children he would not provide medicine or other important information that I needed as well as entitled to identify. We had continuance after continuance, excuse after excuse. I was finally fed up with the system, the previous attorney!
I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO CARED ABOUT MY SONS WELL BEING.
These are just few incidents over the course of my 3year adventure. After a knowing I had court first thing in the morning my previous attorney calls me to tell me court had been canceled this is at 5pm or so at night and I thought this peculiar for a judge to do less than 24 hours prior to a scheduled hearing.
I knew of this gentleman that I heard of around town, I reached out to him that night. How many more years were going to go by with my son failing in school and his medical needs not being met. His academics getting to the point of almost no return. I was lost. He calmed me down, listened to my story, and couldn’t believe his ears. THIS WAS IT. I found him. My personal savior, my angel in disguise. Probably the worst disguise an attorney, Right? He never batted an eyelash when making me feel confident entering that courtroom. When we met outside the courts for debriefing for both of us, keep in mind he is new to me as I am new to him. I gave him the speediest run down of importance. I then pull out my documentations. He could not believe how organized I was and how much detailed information and evidence I had in my possession in this case. Needless to say, we did NOT have a canceled hearing and you can imagine my ex-husband’s counsels face when we both walked into that court room. After 3 years Charles Bugby won the hearing and me my son in a matter of a couple hours.
