Client was charged with a ‘Felon in Possession of a Firearm’ - Penal Code Section 29800(a)(1). After negotiations with the Deputy District Attorney a Misdemeanor offer was made. However, upon further d ... iscussion of the facts and the potential immigration consequences of the Misdemeanor conviction the matter was further discussed in chambers for a possible favorable outcome. After becoming familiar with the underlying facts, the Court agreed to DISMISS the case and DISMISSED it pursuant to Penal Code Section 1385.
