OUTCOME: Settled to the client's favor

Represented the wife in a highly contested, high asset, divorce. While this case involved extensive litigation, we successfully settled the case prior to trial, and achieved a highly favorable outcome ... for the client. The client obtained an equal distribution of marital assets; and a significant weekly child support order. In particular, and due to the opposing party's significant income, the agreed upon support order was almost three times above that called for pursuant to the Massachusetts Child Support Guidelines.

OUTCOME: Complaint for Modification was withdrawn and Complaint for Contempt was settled in the client's favor

Represented the father in his Complaint for Contempt, and in defending against the mother's Complaint for Modification. The mother sought a draconian award of sole legal custody and to terminate the f ... ather's parenting time. Due to her refusal to allow the father parenting time, we filed a Complaint for Contempt. We negotiated a full settlement on both complaints, where the mother withdrew her frivolous complaint for modification; and on the complaint for contempt, agreed to significant make up parenting time and holiday time for the Father. Additionally, the mother paid part of the attorney's fees and costs that the father had incurred as a penalty for her violation of the prior court order.

OUTCOME: Client won a favorable Judgment

Represented the Mother in a highly contested case relating to the primary issue of child support and retroactive child support. The opposing party in the action denied paternity and therefore had not ... paid any child support for approximately four years. After over three years of litigation, and a trial, the client was awarded sole legal and physical custody of the child. Additionally, not only was the Father's child support order increased from that he was paying pursuant to temporary orders, but the Mother was also awarded a significant amount of retroactive support dating back to the child's birth. The opposing party was additionally ordered to pay the mother's attorneys' fees twice during the course of litigation.

After approximately three years of litigation and a two day trial, the client obtained a highly favorable judgment where she was awarded primary physical custody of the child, and child support. The c ... lient also received a favorable division of assets, where the primary issue related to liabilities. Due to the opposing party's spendthrift habits, he was ordered to pay the majority of the marital debt, as well as all of the debt that he held in his own name individually. The client additionally obtained an award of attorney's fees.
