Kerry Robert Toy

I felt he did not listen to my concerns, would not ask the court for what I wanted, did not EVER return my calls unless I indicated I would hire another attorney, and the absolute terrible way he treated his staff. Very sad to see the humiliation on his secretary's face. I dealt more with them than... him. He is someone I would not recommend.

Got arrested in Athens and had my first offense, he made it seem like it was no big deal and left me in the dark in every aspect of the case. Tried to call and e-mail never got a response. Was late showing up to the court, and gave me no list of options to look from and just decided my plea deal with...out letting me know what it was. Spent 2 minutes with me in the hall.

Mr. Toy was neither accessible or responsive. He would not answer e-mails, and he did not return phone calls. He never indicated that he followed through with anything I told him, and he did not fight my charge. For his fee (thousands of dollars), he gave me five minutes on the telephone and five ...minutes in the hall outside of the courtroom.

For smaller cases, Mr. Toy would be perfect. He appeared to be very knowledgeable about most subjects, but unfortunately not for what I was needing. I had a felony case, and Mr. Toys exact words to me were "Our best hope is that everyone involved in this case get struck by lightning." He was refer...ring to me going to prison here. The next day, I found a different lawyer. I took a plea deal that didn't involve any prison time. I have no doubt that Mr. Toy is a fantastic lawyer, and probably the best in Athens. He came very highly recomended. He just wasn't knowledgable on my felony charge. The other complaint that I had was that he never got back to my family when we emailed him.
