Investigation leads to dismissal
Feb 11, 2015OUTCOME: Dismissed
A Client came to me after being hit with receiving stolen property charges for using her ID to pawn a television for someone she knew. Receiving stolen property is a misdemeanor of the first degree, pu ... nishable by six months in jail and up to a $1,000 fine. My Client was worried about potential jail time because she was scared that any penalty could impact her custody of her kids or get her fired from her job. I conducted a thorough investigation that included tracing witnesses and talking to the victim. Through that investigation, I found evidence that proved my Client's story and was so beneficial to her case that the prosecution had no choice but to dismiss the charges. Because the charges were dismissed, my Client kept her job and has since enrolled in night classes to further her career. I couldn't ask for a better resolution to her case.
