Respondent was picked up by immigration officers and placed in deportation proceedings. I was able to secure a bond for him in Immigration Court, get him released from detention, and applied for cancel ... lation of removal. At his trial, I was successful in meeting the criterion set forth for cancellation of removal and won his case. In the meantime I was able to get my client a work authorization card so he could legally work in the United States and he is now on his way to becoming a legal permanent resident of the United States.
