Terrible lawyer and even worse judge.

Just look him up... It won't take you long to find numerous red flags about Mr.skelton and most of the Montgomery county legal system...... Smh

Legal Representation?

Mr Skelton represented me in years past and I would recommend him without question. Unlike the guy whose review prior to mine is almost nine years old and pled guilty to a child abuse charge my case(s) were a little older and a little newer. I have to ask why did you plead guilty if you were not guil...ty? With that said, you know the risk going to court or not when you hired counsel. You choose to plead out or go to trial, not the attorney.

DO NOT HIRE ATTORNEY RICHARD SKELTON OF DAYTON OHIO!!!!!!

I had a case in 2005 and I'm not sure if Mr. Skelton had too many cases or just doesn't care about the people he is representing, but I ended up serving 6 years in prison for a crime I didn't commit. I had never been In trouble and was made to feel if I didn't plead guilty I would have done 30+ year...s. I got scared and plead guilty anyways. I was away from my children and family for 6 years of their lives and can never get that back. I would never recommend Mr. Skelton to ANYONE! If you are going to be an attorney don't take on so many cases to where you just want to get through and on to your next one because you have to many.

Review Richard Skelton

Mr. Skelton was timely and was able to outline what he would be able to do on my case in the first meeting. He put me at ease and was on time for all our court appearances. He outlined the goal and was honet about what he would not be able to do up front. Most of all his fees where reasonable.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
