Don’t hire this attorney

Worthless garbage attorney. Didn’t listen to anything I said, started talking about plea deals in the consultation. Refuses to fight for your case, just wants a quick buck and for you to scram.

Great lawyer

In dealing with Mr. Deporter he, and his staff, have a thorough understanding of the law and have been more than professional. Curious as to the other reviews listed, as I would certainly recommend Mr. Deporter.

Should be disbarred

He never responded to discovery in a divorce. Told my attorney the hearing was cancelled when it was not. My divorce was dismissed had to file in a different county. Cost me what would be now $410,000 in lost 401k and married longer to a violent man and new filing fees.

Family law case

Do not hire this lawyer! He talked a great game and in the end he was just out to collect fees and wasn't looking out for my best interests. I used him for a divorce he missed our first court date. My ex offered me for about 100 days not to pay any of the family debt and offered more then the state s...aid he had to pay for support. Mr. Depoorter continuously told me this was a bad offer and told me about all the things we were going to get.. I ended up getting no alimony, had to pay my ex husband 11k in split debt for cars credit cards and the house, and got $120 less in child support then my ex originally offered. The divorce ended up costing me over 20k total. I could of ended it month one with almost no lawyer expenses not paid anything to my EX and got more in child support each month. This is a disaster I should of never listened to MR Depoorter. He even some how convinced me to sign an affidavit saying I wouldn't come back and sue him. So I know he knows he messed up big time.... DO NOT HIRE!

Concerned about lack of representation

Would not recommend Mr. Depoorter. He was more interested in collecting fees than providing representation. I had to represent myself before the judge in court due to Mr. Depoorter not being present at my hearing.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education

  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
