Matthew Charles Sorg

     Matt is a Principal with the firm where he has practiced on the above areas of law for over 20 years. 

      Matt spends the majority of his time offering legal services in all types of domestic relations matters.  He takes time to understand each unique situation and provide advice with everyone’s best interest in mind.  The types of matters that he is typically involved in include: dissolution, divorce, legal separations, custody, child support, alimony, property division, prenuptial agreements, and parental rights. He also understands how to get qualified domestic relations orders (QDRO) issued to ensure pension funds are properly dealt with after divorce.

      In a commercial foreclosure situation, there may be a need for a court appointed Receiver.  Matt has been  appointed as Receiver throughout Southern Ohio in over 95 cases and ten counties.  His substantial experience in Receivership law has made him one of the leading attorneys in this practice area. Other business services that Matt provides on a regular basis include helping small businesses with formation, growth strategies, and purchasing and selling agreements.  He has a great deal of experience with administrative law issues surrounding liquor establishments.  

      Another portion of Matt’s time is spent on Civil Litigation matters.  While Matt can be very aggressive and help resolve issues when in court, he devotes a considerable amount of time counseling clients regarding how to minimize the risk of litigation.  Matt also negotiates contracts and documents so that should a dispute arise, the client’s rights are spelled out as clearly as possible. He understands that a little time and effort up front can help clients minimize, or sometimes even avoid, the cost and expense associated with litigation and other dispute resolution forums.
