Elizabeth Ann Durnell-Maier

First let me start by giving the highest recommendation to Liz for her knowledge, skill, and professionalism in handling Elder Law matters. I follow that by recommending her firm Cooper and Adel Law. Ms Durnell (Liz) is with the Thom L. Cooper Co. which specializes in elder law. I originally h...ired the firm in 2009 when my father was in very declining health. They helped me get my parents “ducks” in a row at the time. My father passed in Jun 2009 and the firm furnished sound legal advice as we got mom settled into an independent living arrangement and sold the family home. Now in 2011 mom is experiencing a requirement for more assistance and it was obvious some additional planning was needed. I did not want to see her run out of money in her late years so I called Cooper. I was assigned Liz. I could not have been better served. Cooper uses a whole team approach and Liz’s team mates Steve and Jessica have performed in an exceptional manner. We did financial summaries, new POA’s Trust documents and an Asset Protected Annuity. This stuff could not have been done alone. Liz is thoroughly professional, knowledgeable; and also pleasant, responsive and helpful at every occasion. She is a great advocate for my mother! I guess my highest compliment is if I were going into battle I would want Liz by my side. Coming from a former Marine and FBI agent praise does not get any higher than that. It is not easy to negotiate family situations especially when I am in Naples, Florida and my mom and dad were in Arlington, Ohio. We had one face to face meeting when I went to Ohio to sign papers (which had to be signed in state) but otherwise we handled everything by conference call, Skype, Gmail, Dorp Box and of course snail mail (FedEx). She gives considered and sound advice to each and every question. Her abilities and knowledge in the Elder Law field were essential to navigate my mother through what seems to be very complicated process of trusts, government filings, etc. Absolutely recommend Liz and Cooper Adel Comp for Elder Law needs.
