My engineering company does a lot of work for out-of-state design/build contractor clients. We had a situation with a client in 2008 in New England. After receiving a purchase order from the client subsequent to the client's receipt of our proposal/contract, we prepared the design work and submitte...d it in accordance with the required project schedule. After our design was submitted, the client decided to hire another firm and use their design. Based solely upon the fact that the client was not using our design, they informed us that they were rescinding their purchase order and therefore owed us nothing. Tracy filed a collection action for us and we recovered 100% of the amount owed within about 45 days. It was a terrific result!
