I had a very scary, self induced IRS problem with bills and judgements close to $500k. I was absolutely petrified. My matter was extremely complicated and further exacerbated by IRS delays in processing, lost returns and an erroneous, highly complicated notice of deficiency judgement for over $200k ...alone. Scary, life altering stuff. I was an absolute wreck. I knew could not handle this problem alone but after doing extensive research - it seemed like there was a whole industry of tax attorneys and consultants that preyed on peoples fears and promised easy settlements with the IRS while taking large fees from distressed people like me. Then I found Howard's website and very well written and understandable blogs and I thought I had found a glimmer of hope. We set up a call, I explained my complicated problem and Howard agreed to take me on as a client and assured me that we would be able to get things settled with the IRS . I must say that right off the bat, I am sure I became Howard's most neurotic client of all time. I was an absolute paranoid wreck. My case was so complicated and had many many twists and turns. Howard has an intricate knowledge of tax law but also fully understands how the IRS thinks and works - even its computers.... His website says he is a "friend when the IRS comes calling." But he became more than that to me. He was a psychologist, friend and attorney. I was not only scared, I was quite embarrassed to have put myself and my family in this tax predicament. With each new fear or complication in my case - and there were many - Howard would take my fearful calls, talk me off a ledge, give great counsel and keep the case on course. I'm grateful to Howard and Griffin for getting my complicated case in front of the right people at the IRS, correcting what was wrong and negotiating an acceptable settlement for a third of what the IRS was originally coming after me for. He allowed me to move past this matter and be able to breath again. I am forever thankful. For any of you out there in need of a savior, beacon and advocate on serious IRS matters, Howard and Griffin Levy should be at the top of your list. Its also probably important to say that I live in Connecticut and work in California and New York. Howard is based in Cincinnati. So for handling IRS matters - no matter where you live or work, Howard can handle everything over the phone and by email. He has truly been a godsend to me and I am forever indebted.

It all started with a letter. I panicked and called one of those 1-800 number places that advertise incessantly. I thought because this one happened to be in the city I lived in that I would get good service and I would be able to show up to an office and talk to someone who can help me with my probl...em. I paid them a partial payment and quite a handsome amount. Every time I called to check on my progress and pay my balance it seemed that I was connected to a call center. It’s funny that even though part of the purpose of my call was to pay them that they kept pushing a hard sell. Something didn’t seem right. I asked to speak to an actual attorney, it seemed like they put another telemarketer on the line to make me think I was speaking to a lawyer. NEVER EVER call those 1-800 numbers promising to solve your tax problems - they are a scam. I needed real representation so I started doing some research until I found a very well written article addressing my situation. Howard wrote it. So I called Howard. Within minutes I was talking to an actual attorney. My situation was complicated and Howard patiently listened while putting me at ease. He took my worst fears out of the equation very quickly. Then he began to formulate a general outline of what needed to be done. However you will never have to deal with the IRS ever again, he handles every communication and contact with them. You can sleep soundly knowing that. Since we are talking about dealing with government the process does take a while but when we finally got into the details Howard amazed me with discussions of strategy and the risks, benefits and probabilities of the different approaches. Reasonably, he never promises any specific result, as he cannot - there are too many variables. He always had a plan for all the potential outcomes. Clearly he is experienced and I later found that he has over 25 years of experience both inside and outside the IRS which shows. He has an insider’s perspective which is invaluable in doing the things that actually matter in getting your case through he gears of slow bureaucracy. Trying to solve your problems yourself would be a fool’s errand considering what I learned about the process from Howard. The consequences of making a mistake could be dire. In the end process was mostly painless apart from a few days of some deep dives into your accounts, and some basic accounting lessons from Howard. The result? Remember those ads with the 1-800 numbers with those too good to be true promises? What they promise is what Howard actually delivered for me.

Howard was professional, encouraging, highly informative and brought results. He corrected several misconceptions we had about the IRS and their collection procedures and we found him VERY knowledgable and trustworthy in dealing with the IRS. Bottom-line: he solved our issues. Had an extremely large tax liability with the IRS. Able to set up an installment agreement and weathered the storm. The statute of limitations expired on June 2020.
