Biography
Vance is a patent attorney in the Cincinnati office of Ulmer & Berne and he focuses his practice on the intellectual property needs of small to mid-sized businesses. Vance is active in the Angel and Venture communities, has co-founded three companies himself, and serves clients in all aspects of patent prosecution and in the development of comprehensive intellectual property strategies. He has worked in a broad range of technologies including mechanical, medical devices, electrical, telecommunications, materials, software and business methods. Vance manages the IP portfolios of companies ranging from start-ups to large public companies. Vance was named one of the 2011 "Top 40 Under 40" by the Cincinnati Business Courier and is president of the Greater Cincinnati Venture Association. Vance has also been appointed by the Mayor to Cincinnati’s Small Business Advisory Council.

Great resource for early stage entrepreneurs in need to patent expertise
Vance is on the very short list of folks we connect our early stage entrepreneurs with when it comes to looking at patents. He understands early stage companies, explains things in a very approachable manner and is it to really help them get the most for their money.
