A well prepared attorney.

An employee filed an EEOC discrimination claim against the employer regarding alleged disabilities that were ignored by the employer, retaliation against the employee for having alleged disabilities and a variety of additional unsubstantiated claims. Mr. Smith was very thorough in his investigation ...of the documentation and preparation for the deposition. The disgruntled employee presented a laundry list of allegations in an EEOC complaint which required significant research and background information. During depositions Mr. Smith was presented with a witness for the employer who could not bring her/himself to say anything negative about the employee which would support the employers case. Given this impediment, Mr. Smith was able to re-form his questions enabling the witness to provide the answers to support the employers case. The case was ultimately dismissed in summary judgement with prejudice.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
