Extremely Satisfied

We hired Drew Emmert based upon a recommendation from our estate planning attorney. We were embarking on buying a lot from a developer, which required a tear down, and then building our custom dream home. After 40 years in the financial business (now retired) we knew there are many complications t...hat can arise when building, starting with ensuring the construction contract with the developer contained all the language to protect our interests throughout the entire 12 month process. Drew counseled with us to first ascertain all we had in mind in building. Throughout the negotiations with the developer's attorney he never waivered in insisting all the protections required were part of the contract. His communication level, expertise, knowledge and follow-up was impeccable. We would recommend Drew Emmert to anyone in need of a top quality real estate attorney.

Acquisition Support

Drew assisted in work to acquire a privately held company, including but not limited to supporting valuation, drafting a Letter of Intent, performing due diligence documentation review, and advising on the deal structure. He is a professional, experienced, and trustworthy attorney, and I felt like I ...had a true partner through the process. I would highly recommend his services.

completely misled

I hired Andrew Emmert for a basic drop-in swap transaction. I specifically asked for a ballpark estimate before we started, and he told me it would be around $3,000–$4,000. After the work was done, I received a bill for $13,000—more than three times the amount we discussed. At no point was I warne...d that the cost was rising this drastically. I was not given any updates, no revised estimates, and no indication that we were exceeding the initial range. This left me feeling completely misled. It was a shocking and upsetting experience, and in my view, it reflected a serious lack of transparency and fairness. I would strongly urge others to get everything in writing and be extremely cautious when it comes to billing communication.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
