Biography
Matthew Metzger represents clients ranging from individuals and their families injured or killed in catastrophic accidents to companies involved in complex litigation and transactions. His representation of both businesses and severely injured individuals provides a unique perspective unavailable to attorneys who focus solely on one or the other. Matt's simultaneous emphasis on pragmatic, strategic and creative thinking often leads to unique and satisfying resolutions for his clients. When settlement fails, however, Matt aggressively pursues his client's claims through litigation and trial.
Matt's extensive experience representing individuals and their families includes catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and class action litigation, where he has obtained millions of dollars for his clients in settlements and judgments.
His corporate practice includes representing clients in various business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital financings, various contracting issues, joint ventures and strategic alliances. He also has experience in project finance, equipment finance and real estate matters.
Previously, Matt was an attorney at Keating Muething & Klekamp. He received his JD from University of Cincinnati College of Law, magna cum laude, and his BBA in Economics from The University of Iowa, with distinction, where he was a varsity, scholarship athlete. Matt is also an artist and furniture maker and has exhibited his work in solo and group shows throughout the United States and internationally (his website for his art is ). Matt, his wife and two boys live in Cincinnati.
