Kevin J. Breen has been in the private practice of law for 28 years after graduating from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1986, where he was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in the law of evidence and served as a judicial extern to The Honorable Alvin I. Krenzler, retired United States District Judge for the Northern District of Ohio in Cleveland.
After practicing at large firms in both Akron (Roetzel & Andress) and Cleveland (Thompson, Hine), between 1986 and 1994, Mr. Breen started his own practice focusing on the areas of business litigation, contract, employment law and educational law. His practice has expanded to include additional practices areas. He has successfully operated his own firm for the past 20 years. Mr. Breen is a well-known and widely respected trial and appellate lawyer. He appears regularly in both State and Federal Courts in Ohio. Lowrie, 2003-Ohio-1136, C.A. 21055 & 21133, 03-LW-0838 (9th App. Dist.) Johnson's Janitorial Serv. v. Alltel Corp., 92 Ohio 327, 635 N.E.2d 60 (9th App. Dist. 1993) Lyons v. Cross Roads Lincoln-Mercury, Inc., 61 Ohio 180, 576 N.E.2d 835 (Ohio . 1990); Lee v. Gross Lumber Co., 57 Ohio 52, 566 N.E.2d 696 (Ohio App. 9 Dist. 1989); and Akron Golf Charities, Inc. v. Limbach, Tax Com'r, 34 Ohio St.3d 11, 516 N.E.2d 222 (Ohio 1987). His office is located in Fairlawn.
Mr. Breen is an active and longtime member of the Akron Bar Association and Ohio State Bar Association. He has been a long standing member of the Lawyer Referral Service of the Akron Bar Association and other committees of the bar. He has served on the Government Affairs Committee of the Akron Regional Development Board as well as the Social Services Advisory Board of Summit County.
