This is my experience, and I hope it helps anyone considering this firm. I’m happy to share screenshots, messages, or emails. I have no issue backing up my experience. I repeatedly asked to review my petition draft before signing, including a clear written request, but I was not given the opportunity to review it until after it had already been sent to the attorney. Despite multiple emails and messages (including to the answers@ email), most if not all of my questions went unanswered, especially regarding my vehicle and the redemption vs. surrender options, which were absolutely central to my case. The MyCase portal was not kept up to date, leaving me unsure where things stood. When I requested to speak with Attorney James directly, I was met with resistance rather than support. I understand firms are busy, but this felt more like being processed than being represented. This was too important a decision to move forward without clarity, so I chose to pause the process and explore other options. I had already paid in full, and I walked away — that alone should speak volumes.

I reached out to hausen law to file bankruptcy. after the initial scheduled onboarding call (which they were 30 minutes late to) communication was horribly spotty. Everytime I called I got a new receptionist who would take a message. None of the attorneys were ever available. Anytime I scheduled a ph...one call they were either very late or simply didn't call at all. It reached a point of frustration where I let them know I'd be withdrawing from their services and would like my deposit refunded. At which point James Hausen himself started emailing me about how they deserve to keep a portion of my deposit. I requested signed documentation of any sort where I agreed to these terms. Or even a policy posted somewhere viewable to consumers ahead of time that states that they would keep said amount for emails/onboarding call if you chose to withdraw. And he simply kept debating me repeatedly and very condescendingly without providing any documentation. I would like my funds back so I can invest them more wisely to help my situation, I did not agree to not do I feel this company has earned said portion of my "refundable" deposit.

We used Hausen for our chapter 7 and even though all my accounts were discharged, he neglected to follow through with a garnishment and after discharge my wife’s check was still garnished. Then I find out he did not send paperwork to courts to reaffirm my truck loan, now I’m paying on a truck that wi...ll never show on my credit. We paid him to do a job that he did not do correctly. If your looking for a good lawyer that is honest and actually files all the paperwork, look somewhere else. He called me a liar and said he did his job and I shouldn’t worry about my credit, just don’t get into debt again. Well that helps if I want to buy a house or anything else… they are unprofessional and Undependable. Do not recommend to anyone.
