With business offices in Akron and Cleveland, I offers expertise as a certified polygraphist, educator and attorney. I founded Poly-Tech in 1977 to provide forensic polygraph services to defense or prosecuting attorneys, and corporate consulting services in loss prevention and applicant screening.
I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Akron, studying criminal justice and technical education. I later earned my law degree at the University of Akron, graduating with distinction. As a polygraphist I am certified by the National Training Center of Polygraph Science.
Additional computerized polygraph training was obtained from the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute. The US Department of Justice provided me with basic and advanced training in narcotics and dangerous drugs. The Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy provided my basic law enforcement training as a law enforcement officer and detective. I offically left law enforcement for a corporate career in 1979.
My career spans two and a half decades with case work heavily concentrated in criminal defense, prosecutorial and law enforcement investigative examinations. Corporate investigative testing under the Federal Employee Polygraph Protection Act is also a specialty. Through my work and education, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of all phases of polygraph, law enforcement, investigation and corporate loss prevention. I frequently serves as an expert witness relating to polygraph, and have testified as an expert in the area of security, loss prevention and non-verbal communication/statement analysis. My testimony has been introduced in federal, state and Local courts.
In addition to owning and managing Poly-Tech, I have served as a part-time member of the faculty at the University of Akron, teaching in the Department of Criminal Justice. An accomplished speaker and author, I have appeared before numerous legal, business, academic and community organizations from the local to national level. In 2007, I spoke in Dresden, Germany at the request of the US Army Trial Defense Services in Europe.
Before forming Poly-Tech, I began my career in law enforcement as a detective and polygraphist investigating misdemeanor and felony crimes. I later served as director of corporate security and loss prevention for a large corporation.

"Bill Evans is an excellent practitioner. Our office has used his polygraph services many times as a tool to further demonstrate our clients' innocence. Evans lectures around the county on polygraphs and their scientific validity. He has testified in federal and state courts on the validity of his results, and his analysis will withstand examination by any other practitioner."
