Meredith Young Simmons

As an adoptive mom and a previous foster mom, I am passionate about helping other families grow through adoption.  I have gone through this process myself and want to help you and your family.  The adoption process can be hard.  But the rewards are lifelong!  Our family enjoys the benefits of open adoptions with both of my sons' birth families.  

When I chose a law school, I looked specifically for a school that could support my interest in family law and adoption.  After searching around the country, I chose the University of Colorado at Boulder.  There I received my law degree, as well as a Certificate in Juvenile and Family Law.  I also got better at skiing, traveled to from Boulder to India, and learned to love cold hikes in the mountains.  

But as an Ohio girl, I was drawn back home when it came time to start my career and my family.  My husband and I live near Kent on a piece of land large enough for gardens, a pond, and enough room for our two active boys to roam to their hearts' content.  There are attorneys who thrive on working in large cities for long hours and making six figure salaries.  I am content, however, with providing legal services out of my house, balancing my working hours with my parenting hours, and enjoying the amenities of small-town living.
