All talk

Won't pay anyone for a consultation. An attorney, any attorney, should extend the courtesy of some of their time for a potential client. With her, It all sounds good at the first initial phone call. Matter of fact it all sounded great. Guess I should learn that when it sounds to good to be true, t...hat someone is on your side for a change, it probably cannot be trusted. Sounded great Until the retainer is received. Then she tells you there is really nothing that can be done. I can pretty much have found that out by myself for zero money. Anyone can push a bunch of paperwork and attend court and sit there and say nothing and let my ex have everything.

I was not given all the details that pertains to her fees.

As a potential client, I met with her and was charged $150 for consultation after talking to her for about 30mins. I was not informed about this consultation fee prior to meeting her in her office. I notified her immediately that I didn't know about this and she didn't offer any form of compromise. ...While, I understand that some attorneys charge a fee for a consultation, it would have been nice to know this prior to going to her office. I also felt that her knowledge was average compared to other attorneys I had met with prior to meeting her. I disagreed with some of the recommendations she was making as other attorneys had suggested not to pursue those issues legally. Overall, the consultation I had with her left me disappointed. I feel that I can't trust her with my case and so won't be using her services.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
