I have been practicing family law for over 29 years in the Cleveland area. My philosophical approach to this practice is to do all that I can to maximize the financial outcome for my client while minimizing the emotional trauma which divorce causes.

To implement this approach I prepare my client's case, both the financial aspects and custodial aspects when minor children are involved. I develop a strategy and organize the details. Creating a solution that meets my client's needs is my goal. This may be accomplished by negotiation or a more collaborative process in which my client and I meet with his or her spouse and their attorney with an eye toward exploration of all of the various possible schemes of resolution in consideration of the circumstances of their situation.

I have also successfully resolved my clients' cases through trial, which is sometimes necessary. As a consequence, I approach settlement negotiations with an eye on what would be a good outcome for my client if the matter is litigated. Someone who is facing a divorce needs an attorney with the skills to both bring a case through trial and\or negotiate a good settlement and who knows how to exercise their judgment collaboratively with their client to choose which course to pursue at any given time.
