We had been one of those companies who really hadn't thought we needed Agreements or Contracts - we had always done business on our word and integrity. What that got us was 20+ years of certain clients who didn't always respect or recognize boundaries. We needed to clearly establish Client and Scop...e of Work Policies - it was time to establish those boundaries, as well as raise rates. I had met Stacy through a networking group and loved her passion, knowledge and humor - she knows how to relate to people! I felt comfortable enough to decide to have her work on this project. She listened to our goals and objectives for this project. She asked questions to make sure she understood what we were saying and made sure she had clarification of any nebulous details. She brought up additional points of consideration. She graciously allowed our third-year law student daughter to observe the process of putting the document together. She put the document into easy-to-read, easy-to-understand format. We ended up with a document which was so well written that other attorney clients of ours called to say how well-written it was. Another client called to say it was the best rate increase letter they had ever seen. Our clients now know where the boundaries are - and they will pay more if they need after-hours work. Needless to say, we have learned the value of having a legal budget within our company. She's also in process of more work for our company. Way to go Stacy!
