Children are the most important people in a divorce case. Protecting their future is critical.

Calculating child support involves more than just plugging numbers into a formula.

When you've made the decision to end your marriage, you want an attorney with years of experience.

Your attorney should have years of experience crafting solutions when a family is breaking up.

I can assist you with guardianships, adoptions, and planning for your family's future.

Outstanding Attorney

Worked with Ms. Mandell in 2015 Divorce and Child Custody. I did not hesitate to use her again to modify custody agreement. Would not trust any other Attorney.

Accurate

Worked with Miss Mandell in 2012 She worked tirelessly with an unusually difficult circumstance She's very professional don't take that the wrong way. These cases are complex so she stays focused on the details. Not a cheap expenditure but she's worth it. Also she had integrity with the billing. S...ome attorneys don't invoice hours so accurately

My Guardian Angel

Worked with three other attorneys on the same case who took the retainer and did nothing else but tell me to try to work it out with the other party..if we could have worked it out..we wouldn't be going to court. I was financially struggling at the time. Ellen came prepared for the trial. She review...ed the file before the court dates and knew her facts. SHE tried to work it out and did not make me handle it. The other party was abusive and threatened me. He tried it with her (ie threw a chair) and she called his bluff. He backed off because he knew she wasn't going to handle someone abusing her or her client. He HATED her...I wonder why. It was fantastic to have someone working with you and listening .. My case was resolved .He quit taking me back and forth to court. His child support was caught up and and the threats that he would take my son away stopped. All because he knew he would have to face Ellen. My son is 24 years old now, but I often think of the situation I was once in..financially struggling terrified that the system would fail me. All it took was an honest hard working attorney..I realize I paid her ( and quite a bit ..she deserved every penny!). But she did her job and that is what this young struggling mom needed. Thanks Ellen

Horrible experience

I had a really bad experience working with Ellen. She gave me a horrible legal advice, and put me in a dire legal position. Not only she failed to even give me any legal advice, it literally felt like she’s working for my adversary and opposing counsel. She is very incompetent when it comes to techni...cal aspects, like if you send her digital evidence via email, she asks you over and over again to print it, and send it to her. She also has issues with interpersonal communications, she comes off as rude (there is a difference between being professional and to the point and being rude, she crosses that line to the rude side of behavior). The judge kept threatening me illegally and call my constitutional right of due service as “gamesmanship”. When i wanted to hire a civil rights attorney, she literally threatened to terminate her representation of me at a very critical time of the case being handled. All in all, after working with her, she demonstrated rudeness, incompetence, and failure to provide legal advice as she should have.

Wouldn’t even hear me out

I have been going through a very traumatizing situation for the past year involving my daughter. I called for a consultation and when speaking, I felt rushed on the phone, she would interrupt me, and eventually she was just yelling over me. This is the first time I’ve had to deal with a lawyer outsid...e of my own and it was very unprofessional I felt like she made her mind up before she heard anything I am going through that she did not want to help me .

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
