Biography
Claire Wade founded Sobel, Wade & Mapley after working for a mid-sized civil litigation firm that focused exclusively on employment litigation. Claire’s practice areas include the entire spectrum of employment law, and business litigation. Claire represents individuals who have experienced discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, and before state and federal courts.
Before moving to Cleveland, Claire worked for a large firm in Dallas, Texas where she defended individuals and corporations in white-collar prosecutions, civil tax cases, US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) controversies and complex financial litigation. Her experience includes a significant taxpayer victory in federal district court, eliminating IRS penalties due to client’s good faith and reasonable cause.
Claire graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law. While at Southern Methodist University, Claire was the Editor-in-Chief of The International Lawyer. Claire has also authored numerous law review and journal articles.
