Biography
Laurie Koerner concentrates her practice in the area of family law, including divorce, dissolution, custody, child support and spousal support. In addition, Laurie has specialized training in alternate dispute resolution methods, including divorce and family law mediation and collaborative divorce. The goal of mediation is to assist parties in resolving their differences by mutual agreement, and to avoid incurring both the financial and emotional cost of litigation. Mediation can help parties communicate and negotiate their family law matter in a more effective, productive and constructive manner.
Laurie was an associate attorney at Dworken & Bernstein Co., LPA from 2009 to 2018. In August of 2018, she left Dworken & Bernstein to open her own law office, Law Office of Laurie A. Koerner LLC in Mentor, Ohio.
Laurie graduated with summa cum laude honors from Hiram College in 2002, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities. She was awarded her Juris Doctorate from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. She was named a "Rising Star" attorney by Super Lawyers in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
