Joe is licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio, and is a member of the Toledo Bar Association, the Ottawa County Bar Association, the Lucas County Bar Association, and the Ohio State Bar Association. He serves on the Toledo Bar Association's Technology Committee and Newsletter Committee. Joe frequently presents to various groups in the Northwest Ohio region on technology topics relevant to the legal profession, is a contributing columnist for the TBA Newsletter writing articles on using technology in the legal profession, provides technology support for the Northwest Ohio legal community through Pileus Legal Technology, LLC, and is the 2019 recipient of the Toledo Bar Association Trustees Award.
Joe is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law and the University of Toledo College of Business and Innovation. While in law school, Joe worked as a clerk at Toledo Municipal Court, and was a two-term President of the UT Chapter of the Christian Legal Society. Joe was also employed by the UT College of Law as a web developer.
Joe's approach to law is to seek out best possible outcomes considering each situation as a whole, while still being a zealous advocate for his clients.
"Sometimes there are no great solutions to situations, but we can always try to make the best of an otherwise bad situation. I try to make sure my clients are fully informed of each possible outcome and try to help them make the best decision for their situation. My thought process is more long-term than just simply winning a case. I work for my clients, and they should be able to decide what's best for them. I just help them understand their options."
Prior to joining the legal profession, Joe worked in the technology field in both government and private enterprise performing many jobs ranging from programming to small systems support and networking. He uses that knowledge in his practice to create efficient and effective solutions for clients. He also has 11 years of military service.
When not working Joe enjoys serving in his local church and spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children.
