Go to someone else

Brian was given my case and I did all of the leg work to give him as much evidence as I could to prove my side. During my hearing he fumbled through the papers and was not prepared at all, he didn’t even use at least 7 pieces of evidence I had prepared for the hearing. When it was his time to cross e...xamine he asked two questions that had almost nothing to do with proving my side of the hearing. I was deeply embarrassed and felt as if the judge was almost punishing me due to his lack of professionalism and preparation. Not only that but I was given a plea deal to start and asked Brian if it would be on my record and he told me it would, that was a lie as this case was not to even show on my record in the first place. The opposing counsel made Brian look like he shouldn’t even practice law and I was truly stunned. I wasn’t going to write a review because that’s not usually something I would do but I want to make sure that no one else gets put in the position that I was ever again. I believe I could have represented myself 10 times better than he did. Brian seems like a good person but I truly wouldn’t recommend him for absolutely anything from a legal perspective.

I generally don't respond to these, however, in this case I felt it necessary. This client had a civil case, not a criminal case, therefore there was no plea bargain offered and there was no criminal record in question. There was an offer of settlement that would have resolved the matter without a hearing. I advised my client to accept the offer, however, he rejected it because he believed he could convince the Judge his version of the facts was more plausible than the opposing parties' version of the facts. He was not able to do that. Regarding the pieces of evidence provided, I used the items which were pertinent to his case, which were relevant and provided probative value to his case. There were holes in the information he provided to me at the outset, which when they were filled in prior to hearing, I advised him to accept the offer. He indicated he wanted to go to trial, and as such one was conducted. He wasn't happy with the outcome. That is understandable, however, when the evidence paints a different picture of the facts than you have described, I can't change the facts, only present them the best way possible within the confines of the rules of evidence and the law. The facts in this case led to the outcome. I personally think this gentleman is a good person and I would have preferred he taken my advice and agreed to the offer. I also know that had he represented himself, he would have lost certain rights which I was able to insure he did not lose. I wish him well in the future, however, this case was about the facts, not me.

Hired him, was a mistake

Starting off , was very good. I really thought he had my back, and best interest of my situation. But now that I have learned what I should of and should not of settled for. It makes me mad. I wanted to go to full trial. He was not having it unless I paid way more money, so had no choice but to settl...e. Learning now things should of been in my divorce papers that wasn’t.
