I was misled into believing that I had been damaged and that sizable amounts were due to me as a result; it wasn't until the mediation began that I realized that no day in court and no damages existed per the law but rather an opportunity to bill outlandish hours for research that had little relevanc...e towards the mediation's outcome. Later it came to my attention (through an unexpected 3rd party conversation) that my file had been passed around the office to drive up the billable hours. As bad as the result was, it was nothing compared to the feeling of being misled by the one entrusted to protect you. He knew there was not a legal in the manner in which he had sold the "we have a case" to me. He knew from the beginning...it would end up in mediation and took me for the ride.
