Pending divorce case.

Patty is currently representing me in my pending divorce case. While things are not complete yet, I feel her firm is doing everything they can to represent me well. Previous reviews have mentioned being "handed off" to another attorney with less experience, but this isn't necessarily the case. Patty ...does work closely with another Partner, Stephen Szuch, who handles a lot of the leg work. This is done for a reason. It makes billing cheaper for the client, and frees her up to be present when she is actually needed for all of her clients. Steve is a dedicated attorney who puts a lot of time and effort into his work. In the last few months, I have never had an email or phone call that was not returned promptly, no matter how minor the concern. Steve and Patty work together on their cases and share all information back and forth, down to every single email or correspondence. I know this information is shared, as I received a phone call from Patty just to check in with me and see how I was doing as my case became more complicated and stressful. There are many attorneys who hand off tasks to a trusted paralegal, but with Spengler Nathanson, I'm actually getting two attorneys instead of one. They don't just care about the client, they care about the person they are representing.

Not a good experience

Patty never seemed to have the time to fully understand my case, or the desire. When trying to explain important events or details she would interrupt me and want to move on to something else in order to hurry things along. When talking to me she had a dismissive attitude.

Post-divorce case

Patty was never prepared for court. My bigger issue though is that she did not take the time to fully understand my case in order to advocate for me. It was clear that she was intimidated by the other attorney and became flustered easily. I do not recommend her for any case. I had used her in the ...past as well just on my traffic matter in which she handed me off to an associate with last experience. He did absolutely nothing for me and I probably would have better been better just to do it all myself.

I thought I was getting this attorney but was handed off to someone else

My family hired this lawyer to represent me in my divorce. She turned my case over to another attorney, with whom I was unfamiliar and who had only been out of law school a few months. As a result of her actions, I lost my entire life savings and all my property - over one million dollars in assets.... I consider her behavior unprofessional and unforgivable. The attorney I hired for my appeal stated that he had never seen legal work done so poorly.
