Excellent Attorney

Patty was an excellent attorney. She always kept up with my case, filed motions in a timely manner and showed up prepared to court. She was very knowledgeable and experienced in her field. She was very empathetic and sensitive to my situation. She was also gracious enough to let me do a payment plan ...with her. Would definitely recommend her to anyone going through a divorce or custody battle.

Pending divorce case.

Patty is currently representing me in my pending divorce case. While things are not complete yet, I feel her firm is doing everything they can to represent me well. Previous reviews have mentioned being "handed off" to another attorney with less experience, but this isn't necessarily the case. Patty ...does work closely with another Partner, Stephen Szuch, who handles a lot of the leg work. This is done for a reason. It makes billing cheaper for the client, and frees her up to be present when she is actually needed for all of her clients. Steve is a dedicated attorney who puts a lot of time and effort into his work. In the last few months, I have never had an email or phone call that was not returned promptly, no matter how minor the concern. Steve and Patty work together on their cases and share all information back and forth, down to every single email or correspondence. I know this information is shared, as I received a phone call from Patty just to check in with me and see how I was doing as my case became more complicated and stressful. There are many attorneys who hand off tasks to a trusted paralegal, but with Spengler Nathanson, I'm actually getting two attorneys instead of one. They don't just care about the client, they care about the person they are representing.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
