Good at what he does
Jim has always treated me fairly and with respect. He gained custody for me of my child and even called in to the court in an emergency hearing while he was on vacation out of the states. Couldn't ask for a better lawyer.

Slowly but surely
I came to Jim as a tourist at the islands. I got hit with 2 counts of felonious assault (F2), tampering with evidence (F3), and carrying a concealed weapon (M1). I retained him and the price for those charges was very reasonable. I was incarcerated for nearly 50 days which is the slow part of this review. How ever I kept positive that he was out there doing what he could to better serve me an my family. He appealed 2x for a bond modification when the courts denied it ans he pushed and got it approved for an own recognizance bond. My bond was reduced from 100k no 10% to an O.R. Finally came a plea deal which I plead down to an F4 aggravated assault. I went from 13 years max in prison to 4.5. Which is better than I thought. Jim was very up front abut how it would work. He "coached" me on what the judge and the DA would do so I was well prepared. This lawyer was very good an helpful for me and my family and I would recommend him to any tourist who gets caught up in Ottawa county or locall areas. I'm from the Cincinnati area and he went above and beyond to keep us informed. Yes it took some time so I had to have patience but at the end of the day it was worth it.

Do not recommend for family law
He did not turn in anything he said he did. Never responds to calls or emails. Doesn't help you win a case at all. He tries to help the opposite party instead of the person who hired him.

unfavorable review
Jim represented me in an eviction case. He submitted two complaints when the case was filed that both contained errors in content, that I (not Jim) recognized. He failed to provide personal service of the documents to the defendant as paid for by me. This necessitated a 6 week delay in filing for damages. He referred to the wrong lease contract when he gave me advice on what damages I could ask for. Did a poor job of responding to my inquiries. Missed some opportunities to recover damages from the defendant.
