An allegedly defective pipe joint of an existing copper water line failed and resulted in flooding of portions a medical facility. We represented the contractor in the underlying suit filed by Dr. Fau ... st and were able to obtain a favorable settlement on behalf of the insured. Thereafter, we filed a subrogation suit against the insurance broker for one of our insured's subcontractor's based on an erroneously issued certificate of insurance because the insurance broker provided a certificate of insurance for a policy that did not exist. We were able to recoup almost all of the funds paid out on the original settlement to Dr. Faust in the subrogation suit against the subcontractor, its broker and the various insurance companies involved based on the erroneously issued certificate of insurance.
