Thomas Marshall Bowlus

Tom Bowlus was born and raised in Fremont, Ohio, and is a graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science, with distinction, and a Juris Doctor, both from The Ohio State University. Tom joined his father, William R. Bowlus, in the practice of law in 1998, and he is the Managing Member at The Bowlus Law Firm, Ltd. in Fremont, Ohio, where he also owns and operates Park Avenue Title Agency, Inc. William is now retired.

Prior to going into private practice, Tom worked for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency in Columbus, Ohio. While at Ohio EPA, Tom's duties included the coordination of all legislation, rules, policies and guidance within the Division of Emergency and Remedial Response, and he spent two years as the primary rule writer for Ohio's Voluntary Action Program.

Tom was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 1994, and is an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Sandusky County Bar Association (of which he is a past president). He is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio and in the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio. Tom was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 2000.

Tom is active in his community and is involved with several service clubs and not-for-profits, including the Sandusky County Communities Foundation, Inc. (current board member and Secretary), the Memorial Hospital Foundation Board (current board member), the Kiwanis Club of Fremont (current board member and past President), the Sandusky County Chapter of The Ohio State Alumni Association (current Vice-President), the Sandusky County Chapter of the American Red Cross (past Board Chair), Camp Fire (past board member), and the Memorial Hospital Advisory Board (past board member). Tom is an Eagle Scout and serves as the Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 302.

In addition to his legal career, Tom is also a musician of over 35 years, with a focus on all things "bass," but some proficiency several other instruments. Tom plays in numerous bands, and is also the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Bass Gear Magazine, the leading online & print bass magazine worldwide focusing on gear reviews. Prior to forming Bass Gear Magazine, Tom also wrote reviews for Guitar World's Bass Guitar Magazine. Tom has earned his black belt in taekwondo, and continues to train in taekwondo and jujitsu.

Most importantly, Tom is married to Bonnie, and they have two wonderful children, Travis and Veronica.
