Stacey Ann Gilbert

Attorney Stacey Gilbert will walk beside you during one of the most difficult times of your life.  She primarily practices in Delaware, Franklin, and Knox Counties.  

Attorney Stacey Gilbert began her legal career in 2001 as Staff Attorney to Judge David Fais of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, General Division. After opening her private practice in 2003, she began focusing on family law.

Family law soon became the heart of Attorney Gilbert’s practice. After working as a solo practitioner, she joined a Columbus law firm as an associate attorney, primarily handling family law matters. She later served as the first Staff Attorney to Judge Elizabeth Gill of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations and Juvenile Branch. In July 2008, she joined a firm devoted exclusively to family law. Despite firm changes since that time, Attorney Gilbert continues to practice only family law, which she enjoys because it combines two things she loves – practicing law and helping people.

Attorney Gilbert helps clients with divorce, dissolution, legal separation, child custody, child support, spousal support (alimony), paternity, antenuptial (prenuptial) agreements, unmarried parent issues, and other family law matters. In 2012, she became an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialist in Family Relations Law.

Attorney Gilbert’s work with two judges gave her valuable insight into the courts, allowing her to become familiar with judges, court staff, and court operations.

Attorney Gilbert graduated summa cum laude from the University of Dayton in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and minors in French and International Business. She spent a Summer studying and traveling in Eastern and Western Europe. During that Summer, she spent a month backpacking alone and visited about fifteen different countries. She was also a member of the Mock Trial Team, Phi Alpha Delta Prelaw Fraternity, and Amnesty International.

Attorney Gilbert earned her law degree magna cum laude from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2001. During law school, she served on Law Review, participated in the Pro Bono Research Group as a research fellow and officer, taught dispute resolution skills to middle school students, and introduced grade school students to basic legal concepts.

Attorney Gilbert previously volunteered with Franklin County Interfaith Legal Services, served on its steering committee, and became its first Chairperson.

Attorney Gilbert lives northeast of Columbus and is the proud parent of two children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading Bible studies, relaxing at her camper, and working out. Attorney Gilbert has completed one full and two half marathons. She is her son’s biggest cheerleader, and you can often find her at an ice rink watching her daughter figure skate.

Attorney Gilbert is committed to giving back to her community. She is a member of Rotary International and attends local meetings; volunteers at community events; and serves as the Membership Chair, which is a board position.
