My mother applied for emergency custody and legal custody of my daughter under false allegations. I am a mother of 3, one daughter (11) and two sons (3 and 10mths). My mother showed no care or concerns for my sons, she would pick up only my daughter to spend time with. After my mother disagree wit...h me on a puppy, she threatened me with police. After 6 days she called CPS and said I was starving, beating and mistreating my daughter. She would then proceed to call the police to do wellness checks on ONLY my daughter. No case was opened with CPS and the police officers always found all of my children well kept. After these actions and results, she decided she still wanted to proceed further (during these times, I didn't feel comfortable with my daughter spending alone time with my mother). I was informed 3 days before court my mother applied for emergency custody for my daughter and legal custody. I was shocked, astounded and hurt by the complaint she submitted out of spite and anger, that she would potentially destroy my family if I didn't find help! And immediately!! I originally attempted a references for an attorney my sister interned for, he was unable to help due to conflict of interest. He highly recommend Mrs. Catherine White. When I meet Mrs. White I was in a panic and lost, she did have a work load but she listened to me and heard me. I don't know how much stress or of an overload the case would have been, but she took me on! I was intimidated about the process, I didn't want my mother's false allegations to be a representation of me. Mrs. White understand people lie, and unfortunately situations like mine happens. There were times where emotions were high, but she kept me steady. We came up with a fair Joint Parenting Plan that makes my children happy and satisfies both parents. I could always count on her honesty and word, she always kept it. She communicated often with opposing counsel when pieces of our parenting plan were not being followed as ordered by the court. Where I had questions and concerns, she had plans and answers. I appreciated her more than she could understand. I was ready to tear my hair out when my ex stopped paying child support, but she was there to help me file contempt charges and take care of the matter. She protected my best interests at all times because that is what she does. She enjoys this work, and it shows because she is so good at it. She provided me real value for my money. She was a great advocate for me and never avoided the tough stuff. She speaks up and fights for her clients. I found Catherine by website searching but I’m Very Glad I did worked with her! She helped me out to actually redo my divorce case and get back shared custody of my child, also lowered my child support payments. I liked from her that she is straightforward but still nice, and I truly believe she di...d her best to understand my concerns since English isn’t my native language, she was sweet and patient to guide me though the process, answering my doubts on documents, helping me to be confident when I had to speak to the judge. She knows what she’s doing...very knowledgeable, She is working focusing on what is fair and in best interest for the case. Sometimes I didn’t hear from her in a couple of weeks because she is a very busy attorney but I felt she had my back, in court you see how she is recognized and respected by attorneys and court staff. (At her office she can be without hills and formal outfits, making her even more approachable). Her fees are reasonable and she can also make you a plan for payments. Catherine is an amazing lawyer!! During my custody battle she has been an amazingly confident,supportive, knowledge lawyer. I live in a different state than my child's mother and had to fight for my son that is battling cancer and had to make several trips to Ohio to fight for my son, because his mot...her couldn't or wouldn't acknowldge that my son was sick and wouldn't stay at the hospital long enough to learn how to take care of him!!
