Attorney Represents a Client That Canceled My Account Without Notice, Promised to Review the Charge, Filed Suit 20 Months Later

Attorney Alyson C. Tanenbaum chose to represent Call Management Resources (CMR) in a case where: CMR terminated my account without notifying me, leaving my business without phone service and customers unable to reach us. They then billed me $1,686.29 for the remainder of the annual term — even ...though they had ended the service. When I confronted them, they responded (on 10/16/2023) that they would "submit a request to our GM to review your account.” After that, I never heard from them again. No review, no reply, no decision — for 20 months. Then suddenly in June 2025, I received notice that CMR was taking me to court over the same balance they never followed up on. While lawyers can’t control their clients' ethics, they can choose who they represent and how they pursue a case. Ms. Tanenbaum’s decision to back a company that ghosted me after promising a review — and then resorted to legal action nearly two years later — speaks volume

Lack of follow up, documents lost

I hired attorney Alyson Tanenbaum for a case I had against a tenant in a condo I own. Multiple times during the process I had to make unnecessary trips to her office to "re-do" statements and things that were done previously and somehow "misplaced." I asked to be kept informed at every step of the pr...ocess and often found myself having to make multiple calls to get answers instead of having my messages returned. I ended up spending probably double the amount of time that I should have.

"I recently had a case in which Alyson represented the opposing party. She fought hard for her client but was cooperative with me. We reached a fair resolution for all parties involved. I proudly endorse Alyson."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
