The Attorney's side of these comments!!

I wish, that as attorneys, this site would allow us to comment on comments. I have practiced law for 35 years and have had hundreds, maybe thousands of clients who are happy with my services and who come back and send referrals to me. There are only 3 negative reviews here and I know who each one of ...them is. None of them wanted to pay and all of them owed money to me, so I had to withdraw from their cases. They were fine as long as I was representing them for free. When I asked for my overdue fees to be paid, they did not pay. I cannot work for free. As I stated, I have had hundreds of happy clients. I have a reputation of being tough in court and I always fight. It took me many years to be able to withdraw in cases where I wasn't being paid and clients had mounting bills. I never wanted to hurt anyone and I always wanted to help, regardless. Many of us attorneys feel the same way even in spite of clients who don't pay or who have unrealistic expectations. As for "Eddie" he didn't tell you that he has two minor children that he doesn't have to pay child support for because of me. He also didn't tell you that he doesn't have to pay spousal support in a situation where he normally would have to, because of me and that I had to beg him to be paid the entire time that I represented him. It was awful. "Tanya" didn't tell you that she was not my client and that her boyfriend, who was trying to get custody, owed me big sums of money for a long period of time and that I withdrew before a trial was scheduled because they still had a balance due. She also didn't tell you that I still helped him after I withdrew. The other review didn't mention that she owed me money and when I withdrew as counsel, she filed a motion with the court asking the court to make me stay on the case to help her, stating that she knew she owed money but she didn't know when she could pay me. She also didn't reveal that I created legal documents for her and helped her file pleadings, at no cost, when she was representing herself. That was many months before she retained me and just because I was trying to help her. I practice law as a job. I am not here to offer free services. I have bills to pay and a child to support. I am tired of these online sites that allow people to voice their opinions, without verifying the facts and without allowing the attorney to respond. I hope that you will leave this up. There are two sides to every story. I am and have always been an attorney who cares. I am and have always been an attorney who fights hard for people. I have allowed myself to be used by these people and others, just because I had a heart for them and wanted to help. They should be ashamed of their negative comments and the half truths and lies that they have told.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
