Lucas A. Thompson

The Law Office of Lucas A. Thompson, LLC is a criminal defense practice that represents individuals in Central and Southeast Ohio. Thompson grew up in the Southeast Appalachian region of Ohio where words are cheap and hard work talks. His family moved there when he was at a young age to help men struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. It was during those years that Thompson experienced the importance of second chances and that he should always fight for the vindication and redemption of individuals. That principle and passion led Thompson on a path to becoming a criminal defense attorney.

Thompson graduated from Appalachian School of Law with a Juris Doctor and Juris Master. Prior to that, he graduated from Tiffin University with a Master of Science in Criminal Justice/Homeland Security and Bachelor of Arts in National Security and Government. While in law school, he was selected to be a member by the Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi and the Society of Scholars of Phi Alpha Delta because of his academic achievement. Thompson went on to be the Teaching Assistant in Criminal Practice at Appalachian School of Law for Thomas Scott, a criminal defense lawyer in Virginia’s Lawyer Hall of Fame.

Thompson was involved in numerous political campaigns that varied from U.S. Senate to Gubernatorial campaigns. He worked in state government and interacted with elected officials in the highest levels of state government. Before law school, Thompson apprenticed under an attorney with 50 years of experience in law. Lucas moved to South Carolina and began working with arguably one of the top criminal defense lawyers and firms in South Carolina. Thompson and his family made the decision to move back to Ohio and that is when The Law Office of Lucas A. Thompson, LLC was opened.

Beyond the law, Thompson spends much of his time with his wife and son. He enjoys sports, music, history, politics, and movies. Thompson is active in his community and is a member of multiple charitable organizations. Lucas was elected the President of the Pickaway County Bar Association in 2024. The descendant of a 6th Great Grandfather who served in the Virginia Regiment of the Continental Army, Thompson is also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), and a Kentucky Colonel commissioned by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.
