I hired Laura based on reviews I’ve read here. I was facing a substantial amount of debt and with the advice from Laura, I filed Chapter 13. At the time, I believed that my debts were handled and when this was over, I would restart my life debt free. Unfortunately, I have a debt that I still have to... resolved. I didn’t receive a separate account for this debt and it was marked “surrendered” on my bankruptcy report. I assumed this debt was no longer my responsibility since I was created a new account ONLY for current fees that did not include the old fee. Now... I owe double the amount due to 8% interest per year. In fairness, I wished I asked more questions... and regret I didn’t asked what different codes meant. I paid for a service that I assumed would have taken care of my debts. I also feel I spoke more with Erin than with Laura. I don’t feel this would prevent me from recommending Laura but I would caution anyone seeking assistance with bankruptcy from any lawyer, to do more research and ask questions, don’t assume everything is included in filings and every detail will be broken down for you. Lesson learned and one, I won’t ever make again.
