Client was place in Removal Proceedings (Deportation Hearing) due to a 2015 conviction for possession of controlled substance. Our office vacated the 2015 controlled substance violation in the criminal ... court based on our client's former defense attorney's ineffective assistance of counsel. We won the motion to vacate and subsequently filed a motion to terminate the removal proceeding based on the vacated criminal conviction. The Immigration Judge agreed with us and terminated the removal proceeding, and our client was released from the immigration detention center and reunited with his loving family.
