For most of his 26 year career, Todd Childers has practiced extensively in the area of personal injury and litigation. He has developed strong relationships with top medical and engineering experts across the nation for consultation and expert testimony. After earning his JD from the University of Kentucky where he served as an editor on the Kentucky Law Journal, he served as a judicial clerk for Hon. Eugene Siler, Jr., on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio. He then practiced general and commercial litigation in Lexington at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, and Dinsmore & Shohl until returning to Corbin in 1998. He has practiced law in the federal and state courts in Kentucky since 1993. He was chosen by the federal judiciary as member of Merit Selection Panel for Appointment of Federal Magistrate Judges for U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky at London and Ashland (2005-06). He has also been voted “Best of the Best” Attorney in the Tri-County Area, Times-Tribune Readers’ Choice Award. Due to his success in representing injured clients, he has achieved membership in both the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums for acting as lead counsel for clients in multiple million dollar cases. One of his federal litigation cases in which he favorably argued a rule of law for procedural practice of cases (Bluegrass Hosiery v. Speizman, 214 F.3d 770 (6th Cir. 2000)) is cited in law school textbook (Teply, Whitten and McLaughlin, Cases, Text and Problems on Civil Procedure, 2nd Ed., Carolina Academic Press, 2008) and in a federal practice manual (Federal Civil Procedural Manual, Rosenthal, et. al., Juris Publ. 2015, § 9.2.2, p. 299, n.19).
